Natasha here, a Houston wedding photographer situated in Laporte. Photographing people on their most significant days has been my passion for almost four years, and I've spent the last year focusing on weddings in Houston and Austin.

Pros and Cons Having a First Look
When I got engaged, as a photographer, my family and friends all asked the same question: “Will you have a first look?” It’s not uncommon for couples to do so, but it’s also not necessary. The only thing that matters is that you’re both 100% on board with the decision. That being said, I’ve been on both sides of this situation and here are my thoughts on both sides of this coin:
Why you should have a first look
The most obvious reason to have a first look is that it gives you the opportunity to get some really great photos of the two of you together. The photo session can be intimate, and it’s a beautiful moment that will be captured forever.
It also helps set the tone for your wedding day–if you’re having an outdoor ceremony in the evening, for example, having your first look during daylight hours could give everyone time to relax before things get underway later on in the evening when everyone is tired from dancing and drinking champagne all day long!
Another benefit? You’ll get any ugly crying out of the way before walking down the aisle . And lastly: A private moment just between husband-to-be and bride-to-be–how romantic!
Why you shouldn’t have a first look
Your partner should be surprised.
In front of all of your friends and family, you want to see how your partner responds.
You want to capture each other’s expressions in the ideal photo.
