Natasha here, a Houston wedding photographer situated in Laporte. Photographing people on their most significant days has been my passion for almost four years, and I've spent the last year focusing on weddings in Houston and Austin.
Houston is a city full of romance. From beaches, to museums and parks, there are plenty of romantic places to propose in Houston. If you’ve never been on a romantic walk around the city before, there is no better time than now!
If you want to make your proposal unforgettable, why not do it on a beach? The beach is one of the most romantic places in Houston. You can propose at sunset and have live music playing while you do so. Your partner will love this unique proposal idea!
A picnic in the park is a classic romantic proposal idea, and it’s one of our favorites. Make sure you have a blanket, some wine and candles (or bring a picnic basket with all of that included). Then head out to your special spot and wait for nightfall so that you can watch the stars appear in the skyline. When all of your friends are asleep at home, you can enjoy some private time together—and pop the question!
One of the most romantic ways to propose is on a Ferris wheel. If you want to catch your partner off guard, ask for a ride at the top of the Ferris wheel. Then propose during or at sunset, or even at night!
If you’re feeling adventurous, consider proposing in a romantic setting like by candlelight and roses. Or do it outside with fireworks in an open area that allows for people watching.
If you’re looking for a fun location that’s still romantic and private, think about proposing at the Houston Rodeo.
The Houston Rodeo is one of America’s biggest rodeos and it’s held in early March every year. This event attracts more than 1 million attendees each year which means there are plenty of people watching! However, if you want it to be private so only your partner can hear what you have to say, make sure you contact someone in advance so they can coordinate with security before hand and make sure no one else is around when you pop that question.
If you’re looking for a proposal that’s totally unique, then having it display above your heads in the sky through Skytypers Air Show Team is the way to go. This group can write out your special message in the clouds, making for an unforgettable day for both of you! It’s a great way to get attention and add some humor or creativity to your proposal.
Spindletop sits on the hotel’s revolving rooftop so you’ll have plenty of opportunities to take in all of Houston as you readjust your seating for an ideal vantage point.
Whether it’s a proposal that takes place over dinner or later in the evening, this restaurant offers many private spaces where you can share such a momentous occasion with your significant other. You can even arrange an intimate dinner party and gather friends and family around you to celebrate afterward!
If you’re looking for an adventure before popping the question, check out Segway Tours for a chance to take in all of Houston’s highlights from atop a segway. There are several routes available, so you can pick one that takes you by all of your favorite spots around town. It’s also a great way to learn more about Houston while falling more deeply in love with your partner and the city itself. Especially because it includes wine or beer—whichever suits you best!
Now that you’ve got a few great ideas for how to make your proposal extra special, it’s time to get started. Don’t let another day go by without popping the question!
If you really want to make the day memorable, hire a photographer to capture the entire event.
